Family support - CML - Chronic Myeloid Leukemia
Rahim, originally from Morroco, immigrated to Denmark in 1967, was diagnosed with CML in early 2007. His son Basim, a 16-year-old singer, took part in X-Factor (similar to American Idol). He sings in both Danish and English. In fact, you will find a lot of songs and videos of Basim on Youtube.
The song composed by Basim for his father, is titled “Himlen har alt for mange engle” translated to “The heaven has too many angels." This song is dedicated to all people with cancer and is very popular in Denmark because in most families, there is at least one member who is suffering from cancer. The father of Basim died in 2012.
