Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee - Author of
"The empereur of all Maladies: A Biography of Cancer"
Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee is an assistant professor of medicine at Columbia University and a staff cancer oncologist at Columbia University Medical Center. He recently received the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction for 'The Emperor of all Maladies.'
Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee was born in New Delhi, India. He went to school at St. Columba's School, Delhi. He majored in biology at Stanford University, then won a Rhodes scholarship to Oxford University where he earned a Ph.D. in immunology. After graduation, he attended Harvard Medical School to train as an internist and won an oncologyfellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital.
In 2011, Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee won the Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction, one of the most prestigious awards in the world. Time magazine nominated Dr Mukherjee in its "100 most influential people" list, along with artists, performers, scientists and politicians.
